Instructions:

1. Set the destination address

The destination address should match the internet address of the other computer.

Another possibility is to use the loopback address 127.0.0.1.

This will measure the ping time of the loopback mechanisme.

Leaving the destination address blank will not send any ping requests to the other computer.

2. Set the destination port

The destination port should match the receive port of the other computer.

Leaving the destination port blank will use a random port and will probably not work.

3. Set the receive port

Choose a free port or leave it zero so the system will choose a free port for you.

After starting the test the program will show the port that was choosen.

4. Click start

If the destination address and port are filled in the program will send a ping
request every second.

If the program receives a ping request it will send a ping response back.

5. Reading the results

The ping time will be show in the results box.

( the integral part (before the dot) is in milliseconds )

( the fractional part (after the dot) is in microseconds )

6. Check firewalls

Some firewalls will block the udp packets.

7. Click stop or close the program

This will stop the test.
