Instructions:

1. Download UDPSpeedTest

Click on the download link to the left.

	Choose the version you want.

Please report download problems by e-mail to:

	skybuck2000@hotmail.com

2. Unzip UDPSpeedTest.

Use WinZip to unzip the file.

	The zip contains 3 files:

	UDPsend.exe

	UDPreceive.exe

	Instructions.txt

3. Starting the programs:

Run UDPreceive.exe on the computer that

	needs to be tested.

	Run UDPsend.exe on another computer.

( The 2 programs can be used on the same

computer, but this will not give accurate

	results. )

4. Setting up the programs.

Before the programs can be used they will

	need some setting up.

4.1 Choosing an UDP port.

Both UDPsend and UDPreceive need to

work with the same UDP port.

It is best to choose a number in the range

of 30000 to 64000. Other ports might be in

	use by other programs.

4.2. Setting the IP address of the receiver.

UDPreceive shows the IP address of

	the receiver.

UDPsend shows the IP address of the

	sender.

The user of UDPsend will need to know

and fill in the IP address of the receiver.

5. Starting the test:

Press the start button of the receiver.

Press the start button of the sender.

( The order in which the programs start

	does not matter. )

NEW 5.1 Changing the "data size" of the packets:

Use the trackbar of the sender to

adjust the "data size" of the udp

packets any time you want. Use the

	"arrow" or "PageDown/PageUp"

	keys for fine tuning.

6. Reading the results:

During the test UDPreceive will show

how many bytes per second it

	receives.

7. Stopping the test:

Press the stop button of the sender.

Press the stop button of the receiver.

	Or close both programs.

( The order in which the programs

	stop does not matter. )
